Frequently Asked Questions

Why onlinegenie.net?

In addition to designing websites I am a budding author. I am just putting the finishing touches to a children's novel called onlinegenie.net so I thought it made sense to buy the rights to the name before sending my book to a publisher.

Why don't you supply an address and telephone number?

This is a part-time business. If I put a telephone number on the site and clients started to phone me during the day I don't think my employers would be impressed! There is no secret as to which part of the country I live in - the fact that I run websites for Prescot Cables FC and St Helens Group of Advanced Motorists is something of a giveaway! But it is becoming increasingly common to buy services from companies whose address you do not know. I do it all the time and have not (yet!) come to grief as a result.

A part-time business? Does that mean you won't be available if I need to change something at short notice?

Depends what you mean by short notice. If, for example, you are a shop keeper and one of your pages is "this week's special offers" I would ask that you give me 1 - 2 days' notice of when you want the page to be changed. If you need a designer who can change a page at a moment's notice, then it's only fair to both of us for me to point out that I cannot do this.
